You can import from a number of other software but not their own! Am I missing something? AlexReyes May 26 Things is delightful. It has made me productive by making entering, scheduling, and completing my todo’s an absolute joy. Highly recommended. Although the price is stiff, it looks like it’ll help me to organize my day a lot.
For now, I am satisfied with its work, the interface might be better, but it is not a selling point for me. Michael-Vilain Jun 3 Mac-only app in this day and age of interoperability? Hard pass. Winco Apr 2 Things 3 is now pretty much perfect. A great way to view the potential of Things 3 for organising your life and for productivity is to jump onto YouTube and watch some examples of how people use Things 3 in their own lives. You can keep it simple or can go ‘deep’.
I like the fact that the developers keep it up-to-date but only release ‘major’ updates every few years so as not to throw users off their day-to-day productivity with new features and shortcuts to learn. The matching iOS apps are superb too. Frodo-life Dec 21 I used earlier Things till version 2 upgrades a way to expensive for what it is I now use TicTic same fuctionality, cross platform and quite a bit cheape. Scott-C-H- Dec 16 No thanks. WorkFlowy, Dynalist, and Checkvist are all far more versatile and powerful.
Aargl May 14 I really don’t get the enthusiasm for Things 3 in the comments below It’s a nice Todo list, that’s all — ok, I’m not a power user and I don’t need mobile sync.
Things 1 and 2 were a bit clearer, I think, but Things any version lacks colours! Nothing beats the old Finder style underlining colours for making an item jump to your eye, whatever its position in the list. One nice feature is the dark mode, though. But for the price, I’d expect a lot more options colours; may be varying colours from green to red when the due date becomes nearer, etc. I haven’t found a much better alternative and I think, all in all, that there’s not a lot of imagination deployed in the Todos business For years I have tried to use something simple that allows me to organize my life.
I tried omnifocus way too complicated , todoist just ok , and things. Things is dependable, intuitive and simple—like all my best tools. LeroyMorrison May 2 I have never really felt that I was able to organize my life as much as I can now that I use Things. I used to put everything on my calendar but that just wasn’t working as it made my calendar very cluttered and using that method didn’t allow me to have access to any organizational features.
Things has a beautiful and elegant user interface that I enjoy using. Its soft on the eyes and the animations throughout the app actually make you feel good completing your things that you have listed. I can’t recommend this app enough and you won’t regret using it. Winco Apr 19 Things 3 is just getting better and better with every update.
Keep up the great work Devs! Kerry-Dawson Jan 9 I love the clean fresh look but that’s as far as it goes. Hi everybody! Not so much a comment or review, but a question. I’m thinking of buying Things 3 because of the simple and beautiful design. However, as a GTD fan I’m missing out on one basic feature: delegation i.
How does one use Things in order to assign a to-do to someone else, or give it a delegated status until a certain condition is met when there aren’t any contacts involved? Winco Aug 29 People need to get over the upgrade policy issue and move on.
The experience is so much better. Things 3 is miles better and useful than Things 2. Additionally, I have experienced excellent technical support with understandably a few bugs in the earlier versions of Things 3 e. What does one expect with a completely new version? The key is how Cultured Code dealt with these issues and communicated with their customer base.
So far, they have been excellent. I have had the same customer service person liaise with me keeping me informed of bug fixes and workarounds which was very reassuring. Well done Cultured Code.
Then make your decision to purchase or not. Winco Jul 6 Getting better all the time. Updates with refinements and bug fixes being worked on and released regularly. Deibel Jul 6 For me, Things 3 is a major step from version 2. Therefore, I came back from 2do which I also liked a lot. This is very well made software, and considering that cultured code charges for new versions only every few years maybe 5 or so , I believe the price for all versions to be more than fair.

Everyone needs a task manager—and Things is adaptable enough for anyone. This Apple Design Award winner is crisp and lightweight, featuring a simple but effective interface. The ever-present Magic Plus button makes it easy to add to-dos from anywhere in the app, and organizing items is as simple as dragging them where you want them.
Instead of boosting my productivity, my previous task management app had so many customization options that it actually ate away at my time. It became a procrastination tool. In contrast, Things 3 is wonderfully simple and clarifying. The scheduling feature has been the real game changer for me. The app tracks due dates if you have them but—more importantly— you can also add a schedule date for each task.
So you can plan your time and easily rearrange that plan as needed. But I find that I do better by adding the accountability of a scheduled list of things that I want to get done on a particular day or in a particular week. And it gives me the powerhouse organization tool I need without sucking me down a rabbit hole of customization options.
I have tried numerous apps to try to stay on top of what I need to do, reoccurring tasks, upcoming events, and my accomplishments each day.
